The Advantage Of Using Pre Tipped Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are the latest hair accessories that are taking the fashion industry by storm.

Hair extensions, whether natural or synthetic, are attached to your hair in a variety of ways. One of these methods includes pre tipped hair extensions which are best achieved with the help of a professional hairstylist. A pre tipped hair extension is a hair extension that has glue already attached at one end of the hair extension for easy application. The greatest plus factor here is that it will not require cutting or removal of wefts, and it does not shed because every hair strand has glue attached to it.

The glue at one end of the pre tipped hair extension may either be U or I shaped and only take up a small length of the hair extension. However, both are easy to apply as they only require a heating instrument called a fusion or pre tip connector. Once heat is applied, the glue melts and basically lays flat. It can be removed using a remover.

You can still re-use your pre tipped hair extension after it has been removed. The ends of the hair extension that have been pre tipped with glue are simply cut and reattached to your hair using a glue gun and glue stick.

Maintaining pre tipped hair extensions is really not that complicated. You do need to shampoo and condition it regularly (at least every 2-3 days) because it does not receive oils that normally come from your scalp. Take additional care when you are washing the attachment area so that you do not put unwanted tension on the hair extension. Do not scrimp on the amount of conditioner you are applying, this is a case where more is beautiful. If your budget can handle it, better invest in good quality shampoo and conditioner.

When towel drying your pre tipped hair extension, do not rub it dry like you normally do with your natural hair. Use a detangling comb or brush and slowly remove those tangles from the hair extensions, if any do occur. Never leave pre tipped hair extensions, or any type of hair extension for that matter, wet. Always dry it thoroughly. If you want to dry it using a hair dryer, place the hair dryer in a cool or the lowest setting possible. The heat from the hair dryer can damage your hair extensions particularly if you are using a synthetic hair extension.

Is it bed time already? Before going off to dreamland, make sure that your hair is either loosely braided or tied in a ponytail to help keep it from tangling.

Overall, pre tipped hair extensions are great to have since you do not have to reattach them every so often — usually it takes around 6 weeks before you need to have them reattached depending on how fast your hair grows. They also come in different lengths, styles, colour and texture.
